About Domain0
Domain0 is open-source infrastructure for connecting customer domains to a product.
What it does
Domain0 connects a domain someone already owns to the product they want it to point at. It detects which DNS provider is authoritative for the domain, works out which records have to change, shows the ones that would break something before anything is written, applies the change through the provider's own API where that is possible, and then polls until the record actually resolves everywhere.
It ships as a typed SDK, an embeddable connection UI, and an HTTP backend. The backend is a single Go binary that needs a Postgres URL and nothing else.
What it deliberately is not
Domain0 does not register or sell domains, does not host websites, and does not try to replace an authoritative DNS provider. It is the layer between a domain a user already controls and the product they want it to serve. Registration, billing, and hosting stay separate concerns on purpose, because bundling them is what makes a connection flow impossible to self-host.
How provider support is reported
Provider support is reported from a conformance matrix and never inferred from the presence of a provider name. A provider appearing in the catalogue means an adapter exists for it, not that its behaviour has been verified end to end. The catalogue records the implementation status of each provider so that claim can be checked rather than trusted.
Licence and hosting
Domain0 is available as a managed platform and is released under the Apache-2.0 licence. You can self-host the same backend, in which case connection data never leaves your own infrastructure. The source, the issue tracker, and the provider conformance matrix are all public.
